DEFINITION

Mentoring is a two-way relationship which involves a more experienced person helping a less experienced person to work out and achieve their goals.

A mentor is someone who can share their knowledge, skills and experience of life to help a young person to develop their unique ideas and positive attributes.

Mentoring is a win-win partnership. Not only does a young person gain from the relationship - mentors also benefit by increasing their own confidence, along with gaining a sense of genuine fulfillment and contribution to their community through helping to guide a young person along their way.
