Youth Support
HYMC offers two programs to support students. The first is the annual HYMC Scholarship Program described below and the second is the HYMC Encouragements Awards (initiated as a pilot project in 2011).
There are a variety of grants available from other agencies for young people, some of which are listed below. For complete information about the grant, including eligibility, dates and submission process, please go to the granting agency's website.

Annually with the support of our sponsors ClubGRANTS Newcastle and Sensis (Yellow), along with individual donations, HYMC is able to provide annual education scholarships to support students nominated by our member organisations. In 2012, eleven awards were made to students to help support their educational needs. The 2013 competition will open in July 2012.

In 2011, with the generous support of a private donor, HYMC was able to establish, as a pilot project the HYMC Encouragement Awards. The aim of the awards is to assist in improving the educational outcomes of disadvantaged students in the public primary school system. The pilot project took place in Cessnock and Kurri.

The Youth Off The Streets Scholarship Program supports those young people who show the potential and desire to further their talents, but who without assistance would struggle to move forward.

The Youth Participation Grants Program gives young people the power and resources to develop and implement community activities in their local area.

Aim for the Stars offers ambitious and dedicated females an opportunity to receive financial and moral support to help them achieve their goals. Young women aged 12 and above are invited to apply.

The Anna Wearne Trust aims to create opportunities for young people to reach their potential, where such potential is hampered due to disadvantage or inequality.

The Indent Partnership Grants provide Grassroot Grants and Event Development Grants to support events that are being staged by young people around NSW.
